Learning to draw and paint is mainly about learning to see. In this class you will refine the way you perceive the world around you as you dig deeply into both drawing and painting. Lessons will be fun with unique warm-up exercises, art history, and demonstrations, in addition to time to apply these new ideas to your own drawings and paintings.
Open to students of all levels. The drawing part of the workshop focuses on drawing skills, including perspective, as well as drawing from observation. In the painting section we will focus on color mixing, composition, value patterning. Concepts are broken down into understandable pieces with each class tackling a new idea.
Classes are taught by Jenny Wuerker. She has an undergraduate degree from Yale University, a graduate degree from The American University, and has taught art since 1992 to every age range.
